Day in the Life with Devonne

Hi, my name is Devonne Tourre. I'm a senior double majoring in Journalism and Creative Writing, and today I'll take you on a tour of a day in my life. And this is Bernard... Bye Benard! I love that Susquehanna students get to live here for all four years. It allowed me to build strong relationships with the people that I've come to love in West Village. I am the Head RA here at West Village. And it is more than meaningful because it allowed me to not only be friendly face for residents, but to also give them the experience that they may not have gotten at another campus This is Hawksnest where I grab a quick bite to eat and a cup of coffee in the morning. This is the first stop of my day, WQSU. Hey, how's it going? I serve as the production's director for WQSU, which allows students to record public service announcements, liners, and sweepers in order to broadcast information out to the general public. In the afternoons, I report to the Quill as their Managing Editor of Design. The Quill is a student-run campus newspaper in which students can grab a hands-on journalistic experience in order to learn about things that are happening on campus whether that be a campus wide event, a campus issue, or recording on a play. After lunch I come here to the Writer's Institute, which houses both faculty offices and classrooms. Writing is an important skill inside and outside the classroom, and every student should have the opportunity to learn that. I also have my senior seminar class here, and I love it because it's small and intimate.
